Destin Mizelle, Ph.D. (he/him/his)

Grounded in liberation psychology, I take a holistic approach to supporting clients’ mental, physical, spiritual, and sexual well-being. I work with clients to explore how their culture, traditions, history, and broader social experiences have shaped their identities and how they understand themselves. Through this process, clients are encouraged to develop greater self-awareness and critical consciousness while building lives that feel authentic and aligned with their values.

I am trained as a generalist; however, I specialize in working with Black clients and other clients of color as they navigate the psychological and interpersonal impacts of race and racism, while exploring how culture, identity, and lived experiences shape their well-being. I also have a strong interest in supporting adult men in developing healthier relationships with themselves, their partners, and their communities, while exploring how masculinity shapes their experiences and sense of self. Additionally, I have a strong interest in sex therapy, working with individuals and couples to develop greater sexual awareness, communication, intimacy, pleasure, and fulfillment.
